Having any kind of dental problem is a pain, both literally and
figuratively. Aside from the physical pain, the hassle of looking for
good dentists is a different kind of pain. You have to scour classifieds
and what not, and despite all your work looking for a dentist, you
aren't even sure if they are skilled enough.
If you are looking for partial
dentures, a skilled dentist is what you need. Here's why: If a
inept dentist makes dental implants for you, chances are it won't fit
right, or worse, it might hurt your mouth more. It can mess up your
teeth by pushing in the wrong places, or it can pinch you by not being a
perfect fit. Partial dentures may not be the most urgent of dental
problems, but the same care and attention to it must be practiced, lest
your teeth suffer more.
How can your teeth suffer even more? Take this as an example, you have a gap in your
mouth, let's say two missing teeth. Now, you go
and look for a dentist, you find one, but not a skilled one, just one who barely passed his
dental board and is considered by his peers as barely a dentist. But you don't know that of
course. Not yet at least. Anyway, he goes and treats you as best as he could, or maybe not
his best, but the way he knows how. Who knows, maybe he's just lazy, and that's all he knows? Moving on, he goes and takes your measurements for your dentures, and goes to
make them for you. Now, things may look fine, but little do you
know, the material he used are not top notch quality, what's more, the
measurements he took are not exact. As he puts on these dentures in
your mouth, you feel some pinching. You ask him about it, and all he
says is you'll grow out of it. So you believe him. After all, he is a good
dentist, so he says.
After a week the
pinching is still there, in fact it's gotten much more worse to the point that
your gums bleed even when you drink water, and you shudder to think what would happen if you ate
steak. Then, when you try to remove the dentures, you feel
between your fingers traces of plastic crumbling. This is what happens
if you choose any old dentist to treat your dental problems. Shoddy
workmanship all the way that can cause you more harm than good.
